Fine 19th-century Framed Full-length Cut-paper and Watercolour Silhouette Portrait of a Young Girl

This is an antique 19th-century full-length cut-paper and watercolour silhouette portrait of a young girl holding flowers, likely dating from the Victorian or late Regency era (circa 1830–1850).

Subject: A full-length profile of a young girl in a period dress with subtle painted or gilt highlights, standing on a sketched or watercolor ground line and holding a small posy of flowers. Some minor marks consistent with age, but a delightful and highly decorative example.

Technique: Cut-paper silhouette combined with ink, watercolour, or bronzed/gilt accents on paper, a common style produced by travelling silhouettists or commercial galleries of the period.

Frame: Housed in a traditional light-toned wooden maple frame with a mat border.
