Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Flow blue is a style of glazed earthenware and ironstone pottery developed in Staffordshire, England, during the 1830s. The distinctive blurred or blurred-edge blue decoration was achieved by introducing volatile chemicals, such as cuprous chloride or lime, into the kiln during firing, causing the cobalt glaze to bleed into the surrounding white body.

Victorian wash sets were typically constructed from heavy earthenware or ironstone china to withstand daily liquid exposure and temperature shifts. The pieces were decorated using copper-plate transfer printing before receiving a clear lead glaze and undergoing final firing.

Authentic 19th-century Minton ceramics often bear impressed or underglaze transfer maker marks on the base, such as the Minton globe or crossed arrows mark, alongside pattern titles. Authentic flow blue pieces demonstrate a characteristic cobalt halo effect around the printed transfer design and show age-appropriate wear to the unglazed base rim.

An antique ceramic footbath and jug set can be styled on a bathroom vanity unit or console table as a focal point. The larger basin can also serve as a vessel for display or floral arrangements on a sideboard or hallway entry table.

Flow blue earthenware should be cleaned using warm water and a mild non-abrasive detergent, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive sponges. Hand washing is essential, as modern dishwashers can degrade the clear glaze and cause crazing over time.
