Elegant Large Scale 19th-Century Victorian Mahogany Hall Stand An elegant, large scale 19th-century Victorian solid mahogany hat and coat hall stand of fine quality and presence. The central pilaster, with moulded panels and two pegs, is flanked by four splayed, scrolled branches with foliate carving and additional pegs, providing generous hanging space. Below, a pair of curved umbrella rests are raised on turned supports above a serpentine plinth base, complete with the original painted zinc liner (drip tray) and terminating in bun feet. Retaining its excellent original colour and rich mahogany timber, the stand is fitted with a total of ten turned coat or hat hooks across the four branches and central upright. English, circa 1870.
