Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Grand Tour souvenirs were produced during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries for European travellers visiting historical sites in Italy and Greece. These decorative objects replicated famous classical antiquities, including ancient bronze sculptures and portrait heads discovered in archaeological excavations.

Most Grand Tour busts were cast in solid or hollow bronze using lost-wax casting methods or sculpted from marble. Bronze examples were frequently finished with chemical patination to simulate dark oxidisation or verdigris typical of ancient excavated metalwork.

Period pieces display signs of hand-finishing, soft wear to the patination along elevated surfaces, and traditional casting seam details underneath the base. Later reproductions often present uniform artificial surface colouring, machine-sharpened details, and contemporary mounting hardware.

A figurative classical bust serves as a strong sculptural focal point when displayed on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or bookshelf. Juxtaposing the historical figurative shape against clean-lined contemporary furniture enhances visual contrast.

Dust the object regularly with a soft-bristled brush or dry microfibre cloth to remove debris. Avoid applying chemical solvents, liquid polishes, or abrasive agents, as these will strip away the original patination and surface finishes.
