Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers

19th century
Description

A beautiful mahogany chest of drawers dating from the mid 19th Century. It is a good large size and offers plenty of storage with two short over three long drawers. It is an attractive shape and has turned columns flanking the drawers. The drawers have their original turned knobs and the chest stands on squat bun feet. The chest is excellent quality and very well made with a lovely rich patina. The oak lined drawers have the original blue penny paper linings and are made with fine hand cut dovetail joints.

It is in good original condition. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are the usual signs of wear, some minor marks and light knocks and a couple of small chips around the base but nothing detrimental or untoward. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
