Handsome English Oak Chest of Drawers C1920s No.2

A very handsome English solid oak chest of drawers, late 1920s, of sensible proportions and very placeable into so many spaces.

Of superior quality this, one sings character - it's not by accident that the timbers chosen by the cabinet maker and workshop on this one are of a lovely wonderful tone especially on the drawers with its highly decorative grains. The chest sits on a delightful set of shaped oak feet with a combination of two half drawers and two 2 long drawers underneath all oak lined with brass drop handles. We have angled decorative sides to the front, good looking molding to the top and a neat higher plinth to the rear.

The chest sits in fine order with sensible aging, nothing nasty or off putting. Our workshop has carefully cleaned the piece to enhance the oak and ensured its ready to place. You may wish to browse though our website where we have a low matching chest of drawers if you wish to purchase a pair.

Billy Hunt and Co is located on a large Victorian farm just a short country drive from the Rangemore village, a designated conservation area, which was built by Michael Thomas Bass in the 1850s to house the Bass Rangemore Estate workers consisting mainly of Victorian redbrick cottages and the occasional barn.

Our home is a classic Victorian designed and well equipped late 19th century 2 story red brick built barn of some 4000 sq feet nestled in classic English countryside, which enjoyed a careful full renovation in 2000. The estate still benefits being managed in the traditional manner with an Estate Manger, estate carpenter, gardeners etc. A rather delightful place to have as our work space.

Martina, there is no Billy at Billy hunt, has led the team since 2103 and is an interior designer qualified from The Inchbald School of Design London whose previous working life included such clients as Vertu, Aston Martin and Johnnie Walker to name a few.
