Circa 1779, Print by Jacques Lavallée (1745-1807), After Jacques Gamelin (1738-1803), of Two Anatomical Figures (French).

From the Estate of the Clockhouse in Essex (see attached photos).

Écorché prints by Jacques Lavallée are fine anatomical crayon-manner and stipple prints, produced in Toulouse after drawings by painter Jacques Gamelin. Created between 1778 to 1779, these works often appeared in the Nouveau recueil d'ostéologie et de myologie (New Collection of Osteology and Myology), depicting musculature in dramatic, detailed poses.
