A late 17th century oak carving depicting a boar hunt, this carved fragment would have been part of an early barrel in which a tap was mounted on the face of the carving. These pieces often originated from alsace ,and similar examples can be found in various museaums around europe. This example is in good condition with excellent patina and traces of original polychrome.
