Description

An unusual military style campaign chest dating from the early 20th century. It is made of teak and, typical of campaign furniture, it splits into two parts held in place with small wooden pegs. The drawers have inlaid ebonised strung borders, diamond escutcheons and small turned ebonised handles. The chest of drawers stands on a plinth base with small shaped bracket feet

It is in good condition with a lovely patina. The drawers are generally clean and tidy and open smoothly and the back is good and solid. There are some signs of age and use, a few small marks and knocks and a couple of small repairs but nothing detrimental. The lock in the bottom drawer is missing. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
