Brief Description:

This is a beautiful, original, early 20th-century Antique Charcoal and Gouache Painting depicting a Bloodhound waiting beside a door for his master's return.

The adorable, authentic and original painting was inspired by a very famous work by the British Royal Academy listed artist Sir Edwin Landseer RA (1802-1873).

The intricately detailed work portrays the Dog sitting with an impatient expression on its face.

Indeed, the original work by Landseer is entitled '''' Suspense''.

This faithful example has some very subtle differences in comparison to the original work, which is a beautiful feature, as it makes this fabulous piece a very individual work, which was painted during the 1930s by a follower of Landseer.

Signed lower left corner and mounted within the original good quality glazed ebonised and gilt moulded frame.
