Gents 1960s Mappin chronograph wrist watch.
The watch has a Swiss 17-jewel Landeron 248 hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 35mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 35mm high excluding the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in good condition, just a small mark to the side of the top left lug. The stainless steel screw-on case back states that the watch is water resistant but, as with any vintage watches, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The lens is in good condition.
The dial is signed Mappin, the original retailer of the watch. It is in lovely condition with original hands. The chronograph feature is operated by pressing the top button to start, the bottom button to stop and again re-set to zero. There are two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 30 minutes.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
