Gents 1960s Consul Dermaphile wrist watch.
The watch has a 21-jewel automatic movement, AS 1581, which is working nicely. The rotor is signed Consul 136.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in lovely condition. The Dermaphile name refers to the anti allergic case back which has numerous grooves to allow the air to flow in between the watch and the wrist. The case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial has a very handsome appearance, pie pan in design, with original hands and centre seconds sweep and a date display at 3 o’clock… this is an early form of quickset where the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between midnight and 8.50pm until the desired date is reached.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
