Antique Silver Iwc Pocket Watch

Antique silver IWC pocket watch.

The watch has a high grade stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has screw-set jewels and Breguet hairspring. It also carries the IWC logo with the wording, ‘Probus Scafusia’ which is the motto of IWC Schaffhausen, Latin for ‘Good, Solid Craftsmanship from Schaffhausen’. There is also a serial number 427360 and a brevet (patent) number 31457 which relates to a 1904 patent in the name of Fabrique Horlogerie de J Rauschenbach who owned the International Watch Company (IWC).

The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has light marking.

The watch measures 53mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Continental 800 silver marks inside both of the case backs, alongside the same IWC marks as seen on the movement. The case has engine turned detail to the back with a central vacant cartouche. It is all in good condition with just the odd small mark, nothing serious at all.

The glass lens is in super condition.

The signed dial is in superb condition with beautiful pin-set ornate hands (one hand is slightly darker than the other).

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
