French Bronze figure of 2 King Charles Spaniels on a tasselled cushion by Antoine Louis Barye ( 1795 - 1875), on black painted hardwood base. Beautifully detailed cast, early 20th century.

Unsigned as usual for this model, little is known about this very rare model, but features in the catalogue raisonné by Stuart Pivar, p116; Poletti & Richarme p464.

Excellent condition, minor wear to base.
