Gents 1960s Atlantic Super Automatic wrist watch.

The watch has a good quality 25-jewel automatic movement, an ETA 2451, which is working nicely. The movement is signed Atlantic Super Automatic. Atlantic watches were very popular behind the Iron Curtain. At first they were smuggled into the Eastern bloc from Sweden but then the brand became one of only a few Swiss watch companies to strike an import deal with the Communist authorities.

The watch measures 33.5mm diameter excluding the signed Atlantic winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated and it is in beautiful condition. The stainless steel screw-on case back states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.

The lens is in lovely condition (some natural light reflection showing in the photos).

The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands and centre seconds sweep.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
