Prometheus Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
He is most well known as painter on porcelain for the factory at Derby, indeed this work is marked on the stretcher as being created for the Derby Porcelain Factories where it was likely used an example of the artist’s work for customers. The painting retains the original frame which has some losses on the edges but is in overall good condition. The whole is an interesting and decorative work.
