FAQs

Floral still life paintings gained immense popularity during the Dutch Golden Age and continued through various stylistic movements, symbolising the transience of life and showcasing botanical diversity.

Traditional pieces were typically created using oil paints applied to stretched canvas, linen, or wooden panels, utilizing natural pigment colours mixed with linseed or walnut oils.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the canvas weave, stretcher frame construction, pigment ageing, craquelure patterns, and the presence of artist signatures or historical gallery labels.

Pairing dark, moody historical canvases with minimalist modern frames or contrasting them against neutral walls creates a striking focal point that bridges traditional and contemporary aesthetics.

Protect the artwork from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, avoid touching the painted surface, and consult a professional conservator for occasional cleaning.
