A Georgian bow front chest of drawers is a storage unit featuring a convex curved front, popular during the late 18th and early 19th centuries in Britain, known for combining practical storage with refined classical proportions.

These pieces were typically constructed using solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary softwoods like pine or oak, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints on the drawers and traditional mortise and tenon frames.

Authenticity is identified through hand-cut dovetailing, timber shrinkage patterns, original brass or turned wooden hardware, secondary woods consistent with the period, and the lack of modern mechanical fixings.

Position the piece as a focal point in a bedroom or hallway, pairing it with contemporary minimalist art or modern lighting to create a balanced contrast between old and new design elements.

Maintain stable indoor humidity and temperature levels, keep the wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and periodically treat the surface with traditional beeswax to nourish the timber.
