A superb antique French Bronze The subject being Gleaner a humble woman carries a sheaf of wheat in her left arm gathering leftover grain after the harvest, symbolising dignity, humanity and endurance. Aizeline captures this sentiment beautifully with the defined drapery of her dress and her peaceful expression - these qualities made him one of the most respected sculptors of his generation.

A lovely even dark brown patina.
