Italian ‘Grand Tour’ patinated Bronze Sculpture of Brutus standing straight on his right leg, wearing a toga and sandals with a lion-head helmet held in his left hand. An SPQR pheasant-head handled dagger, bay-leaf crown, together with a quiver of arrows lie to his left, positioned on top of an ornate column. Mounted on a plain bronze base.

Grand Tour bronzes originated during the 17th to 19th centuries when wealthy European aristocrats travelled across Italy and Greece to study classical art. Local artisans produced small-scale bronze reproductions of famous ancient statues as souvenirs for travellers to bring back home.
