Type of artwork: A small Collection of Antique & Vintage Prints / Engravings

Surface: Paper

Artist and Signature: various

Description of Prints: A charming mixed lot of historic York views, including:

York from the West – hand-coloured 19th century engraving with Minster, bridge, train, and cattle. York from St George’s Fields – engraved by J. Lewis from an original drawing by J. Browne, published 1809 by J. Lepreux, Cornhill, London. Set of four gate studies (Bootham Bar, Micklegate Bar, Walmgate Bar, and Monk Bar), signed “J. Beckett” – late 19th to early 20th century sketches/prints.

Approximate age of artworks: Circa 1809–c.1900

Is the artwork Framed or Mounted: Unframed

Condition Report: Mixed condition across the set. The 1809 engraving shows some age toning and marks, the coloured prints retain good detail with light wear, and the Beckett gate sketches show toning and edge wear. Please study all photos carefully.
