Pink lustreware is a type of English pottery featuring a metallic iridescent glaze created using a thin layer of gold or copper, highly popular during the late 18th and 19th centuries.

These items were typically formed from earthenware or creamware, hand-painted with ceramic pigments, and treated with a metallic salt solution during firing to achieve the characteristic reflective sheen.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit crazing in the glaze, hand-applied brushwork, slight firing imperfections, and an aged earthenware base beneath an unglazed foot rim.

Such pieces can be displayed on open shelving, mantelpieces, or sideboards to introduce historical character and metallic texture into traditional or transitional rooms.

To protect the delicate metallic glaze and porous ceramic body, pieces should be kept out of direct sunlight, hand-washed gently with mild soap when necessary, and never placed in a dishwasher.
