We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian Worcester porcelain from circa 1790 often features spiral fluting, also known as shanked moulding, along with cobalt blue enamel borders and hand-applied gold gilding. During this period under the Flight ownership, production favoured Neoclassical shapes and restrained, elegant ornamentation.

These pieces were produced using a soapstone-enriched soft-paste porcelain body, which provided thermal resistance suitable for hot liquids. The decoration involved high-temperature underglaze blue or enamel borders, finished with hand-painted gold leaf gilding fixed in a low-temperature muffle kiln.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit a greenish tint when held to direct light due to the soapstone content. Look for precise spiral moulding, characteristic Flight era factory marks or crescent marks under the glaze, and natural wear patterns on the foot rim and gilding.

Antique porcelain teacups and saucers can be displayed on a sideboard top, curated inside a glazed cabinet, or arranged on wall-mounted plate rungs. Pairing classic blue and gold porcelain with modern minimalist shelving creates an engaging visual contrast in dining or living areas.

Clean gently by hand using warm water and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners that could strip the mercury gilding. Never place 18th-century porcelain in a dishwasher or microwave, and handle items individually to prevent chipping.
