Rich cobalt ground with hand-painted polychrome floral medallions, gilt scroll ornament and white arabesques; a single rose painted to the cup interior. Undersides with printed �Gardner Factory� No 4 under the city arms of Moscow; red painted inventory �128� to cup. Established in 1766 by Francis Gardner, the factory�s late-Imperial production is valued for enamel quality and tasteful decoration.
