JOHN MORISON - A fine quality Scottish antique oil painting by the well exhibited Scottish painter John Morison. Morison lived first at 22 Arlington Street in Glasgow (circa 1880) before moving to Copsewood, Kilmacolm (1885) and this painting was therefore executed close to his home. He exhibited from 1870 at both the Glasgow Institute and at The Royal Scottish Academy, ending his exhibiting career in 1912. Works at the RSA include "Near Luss, Lochlomond" "The Tares Of The Field" "The Handicap" "Noonday" and "Tillietudlem Castle By Moonlight." Kilmacolm is a village and civil parish in the Inverclyde council area and the historic county of Renfrewshire in the west central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies on the northern slope of the Gryffe Valley 7.5 miles south-east of Greenock and around 15 miles west of the city of Glasgow
