This most striking high quality large bronze study is by the highly acclaimed Italian artist and sculptor Lucien Madrassi (1849 – 1919) who was born in Italy and worked in his studio in Paris exhibiting at many salon exhibitions from 1879 onwards and obtaining several honorary mentions and a medal for his works. This very large scale bronze study depicts a very appealing scene of an 18th century rural mother at work producing twisted wool from a gathering stick for spinning, much to the interest and delight of her young daughter who is mesmerised by her actions. This impressive bronze is in excellent original condition with lovely two toned patination which is a sign of high quality not often used as it is expensive to produce.

After forty years of shop keeping and maintaining beautiful showrooms, which have been regularly open six days a week, Robert and Wendy have now taken a slightly different approach to their business. Having sold their retail premises, the antique business is now fully online. The picture framing service has ceased to operate because of moving online.

All items will be personally hand packaged to a high standard. Small items are extensively wrapped using the best materials and are often double boxed. Items are then shipped with DHL or Royal Mail fully insured and often with next day delivery. Larger items would be personally delivered or sent with a specialist antique delivery firm, or for outside the U.K, a professional shipping company.
