This is a superb-quality original 18th-century Dutch Delft Pottery Toby Jug modelled in the form of a seated Cheeky Monkey wearing a wide-brimmed hat and holding a yellow Banana Spout.

From the factory of Pieter Verburg, from the 'De Blompot' factory in Delft (reg'd: 1756-1789).

The beautifully presented piece, hand-painted in shades of blue, yellow and manganese.

The underside is marked 'PB/2' for Pieter Verburg.
