This is a superb original Mixed-Media Portrait Painting by the listed British artist David Cox (1914-1979).

The striking image depicts a young female ballerina/circus performer seated in a chair whilst exercising in time for the performance.

Beside her is her colleague or circus trainer.

The piece is entirely original, and it is signed in the upper left corner.

Mounted within the original 1960s glazed hessian frame.
