A truly magnificent wall-hanging shelf unit dating from the middle part of the 19th century. It has a three-quarter gallery upstand to the top shelf with a series of well-turned balluster column supports uniting all three shelves. The timbers used are of exceptional quality and the original finish has a beautifully mellow patina with a soft, glowing lustre shine. There are brass fittings to enable the shelves to be easily fixed to the wall. These wonderful shelves - small to medium in size - are English, dating to the early Victorian era, c.1850.
