Description

J W Benson ‘The Bank’ silver half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed ‘The Bank Watch, Best London Make, J W Benson, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London’. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is engraved with the date, ‘10th Feb’y 1907’.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London 1906 with a sponsor’s mark for J W Benson. The case is in lovely condition.

The front of the watch has dark blue enamel filled Roman numerals surrounding a central lens which has light marking.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition.

The signed dial is in very nice condition with original pin-set blued steel hands including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
