Description

Pair of late C19th/ early C20th Chinese Qing Dynasty carved ‘huali’’ hardwood end tables .

Smart smaller-scale pair of Chinese hardwood stands or end tables . The square inset panelled tops raised on shaped rounded-section legs united by stepped stretchers. The friezes having carved and pierced traditional fruiting prunus or vine design panels. Of freestanding form.

In excellent strong and stable condition with no damage or repairs. The tops having achieved a mellow colour and patina to the figured hardwood, some minor marks and stains commensurate with age , use and purpose.

A useful pair of tables for a reception room or perhaps as vase or jardiniere stands .

This pair of late nineteenth to early twentieth century Chinese Qing Dynasty side tables is made from huali hardwood in a warm brown tone with a mellow patina and figured grain. Each square table features a floating panel top raised on organic faux-bamboo legs joined by humpbacked stretchers, with carved and pierced openwork grapevine aprons beneath the frieze. Visible details include minor marks and stains commensurate with age, standing in excellent strong and stable condition with no damage or repairs.
