Very Large Isle of Man Marine Oil Painting by Franz Hoepfner

Description

A very large and atmospheric Victorian oil painting of Spanish Head by moonlight, Isle of Man by Franz Hoepfner (1840-1893).

Franz Hoepfner moved to England after serving in the Franco-Prussian war and after marrying in Bristol in 1879, he moved to and settled on The Isle of Man. Examples of his work can be found in the Manx Musuem and Government House, Isle of Man.

This is a fine example of his work, signed lower left and dated 90. A large painting at 55.5 x 37 inches including frame.

A great painting, professionally conserved and reframed in period style swept frame, ready to be placed into the home.
