Still life painting has a long tradition spanning centuries, historically focusing on objects, food items, and domestic scenes to symbolise abundance, morality, or simply the beauty of everyday arrangements.

Traditional works of this nature were typically executed using artist-grade oil paints applied to primed wooden panels, heavy cardboard, or Masonite boards, often housed in carved and painted wooden frames.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the ageing of the paint layers, the type of board used, framing materials, and verifying the artists signature against known registry archives and historical exhibition records.

This piece can be hung as a focal point in a dining room or kitchen to add warmth, or layered on a mantelpiece alongside modern ceramics to create a textured, curated aesthetic.

Protect the artwork from direct sunlight, maintain stable indoor humidity and temperature levels, and dust the frame gently with a dry microfibre cloth without using liquid cleaners on the painted surface.
