A lovely ash chest of drawers dating from late 19th Century. The wood has a lovely warm colour and it is a good large size offering plenty of storage. Each drawer has brass plate handles and brass escutcheons. It is a good quality piece with nicely reeded detail between the drawers and carved scrolls to the sides to form the feet.
They are in good condition for their age. Each drawer is generally clean and tidy and opens and closes smoothly. There are signs of age and use with some light surface marks and minor knocks but nothing detrimental. There is a small chip near the base on one side (see photo) but they still display well and are strong and sturdy. They have been cleaned and given a gentle wax polish and are ready for use.
