Coffer Carved Oak Early 18th Century Dated 1721

Description

Here we have a lovely large Oak coffer. As you can see the che coffer has great colour and patina. There is some fantastic original carving not later Victorian as many of these are. The coffer is nicely dated and initialed. The initials are J B and the date is 1721. There are two fielded panels to the sides and the coffer has stile feet and is of pegged construction as you would expect. The back is dark and crusty and the inside is dry and dark just as it should be. The chest retains its original strap hinges and original ironwork bar from front to back. The coffer is solid throughout and ready for your home. Dimensions are approx 64 inches wide 26 deep 34 high
