A fine 18th Century George II Walnut Chest Of Drawers with brushing slide of rare small proportions and good colour. A delightful little piece in good honest condition made with matched figured Walnut veneers, having fine feather banding and cross grain mouldings with cockbeading to the drawer edges. Nice clean original Oak drawer linings, handles replaced in keeping with the period. It is interesting to note that the top drawer has originally had a spring lock, the hole cut out of the dust board to incorporate this can still be seen. The chest has a very good original four piece match to the top having not been replaced as many from this early period have.
Circa 1730.
