Antique Early 17th Century Joined Oak Court Cupboard Sideboard C1620 W6314/21.3

Description

Lovely antique early 17th century oak court cupboard sideboard and with a carved date of 1623 around the time of james 1st and possibly of lakeland origins. It has a canopy top with carved dated frieze to the centre with the inscription of ' k 16.23 b ' and on turned pilaster supports with eight carved panels to the back. The base has a moulded edge to the top above a single door to the centre with carved panels and later victorian iron hinges and handle. There are two carved panels to each side and it has an internal shelf. It has panelled sides and is peg joined and splits in two for ease of transporting.

Measures: 66" high X 38" (to top of base) X 20" deep X 45" wide

In very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the nut brown oak oozing all the charm and character of the period.
