A lovely small oil painting on canvas dating from the mid to late 19th Century. It is well executed and depicts a countryside scene with a small building beside a field. It is a typically English scene although the origin of the painting is unknown and it is not signed.
It is framed in its original gilt and gesso frame with a decorative border and gilt slip.
The painting is in good condition for its age. There are a few small surface marks and signs of age but no major damages and the colours are bright and vibrant. There are a few small knocks and minor losses around the frame and it has been repainted at some point but it still displays well. The painting has been lightly cleaned and is ready to hang.
