Description

1940s mid-size Gruen curvex wrist watch.

The watch has a calibre 364 17-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Gruen Watch Co name, and it also has the name Conoruma. By 1940 all movements had moved over to using the new temperature compensating metal in the balance and hairspring known as Conoruma.

The watch measures 19.5mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 30mm high excluding the lugs. Originally the watch would have been worn by a man but nowadays, it is classed as a mid-size piece. The case is 10kt gold filled while the case back is stainless steel. The case is in lovely condition.

The curved lens has light marking but is very acceptable.

The signed dial is in its original finish. One of the hands is original, the other is a good period replacement.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
