Oil Painting of a Country House Landscape with Deer

A charming oil on board depicting an extensive country house landscape with deer. The work has an appealing naïve look and will have been painted by an amateur probably copying an earlier print. The painting is signed W.E.Morey, they are not recorded, so didn’t exhibit, and will have been working at the end of the nineteenth century and beginning of the twentieth. The work retains the original gilt frame which has had some overpaint over time. The whole is in very good condition and has a great naïve country house look. C.1890.
