This three-drawer dresser base is an elegant example of Georgian craftsmanship.
Four well-turned baluster legs lead to a well-patinated potboard and a cupid's bow-shaped bottom rail. This dresser also has the unusual feature of turned-back legs and the same deep arches to the ends. It is of an excellent color and condition, with only later handles and two back feet that have been repaired.
This is a very stylish Welsh dresser base, probably from the Montgomeryshire area. Circa 1730.
