FAQs

Authenticity is assessed by examining the paper stock, ageing characteristics of the pigments, artist signatures, studio stamps, and framing materials consistent with the stated period.

A vintage landscape painting adds a grounding, organic element to modern spaces and is best displayed in a traditional wooden frame with conservation glass, hung at eye level to draw the eye.

Watercolours must be kept away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperature fluctuations to prevent paper degradation and pigment fading.

These works typically utilise watercolour pigments on heavy-weight textured paper or artists board, often applied with washes of varying opacity to build atmospheric depth.

Mid-20th-century British watercolour painting is characterised by a focus on tonal harmony, plein-air observation, and a continuation of the romantic landscape tradition with modern restraint.
