Giovanni Barbaro 1864-1915.Born in Amalfi,Italy.He married an English artist taking up residence in London.Be enjoyed much commercial success throughout the Edwardian period exhibiting at the RA,RI,RSBA and the New Watercolour Society.Barbaro often worked under the pseudonym’ A.Dudley’,particularly when working in a more traditional style.This is an attractive and larger example than is usually painted by the artist . ‘ Still Life of Roses in a Vase’ signed watercolour,image size 44x 56.5cms, framed size 66x79 cms.
