Very decorative and fabulous colour to this early 19th century French stripped burr elm dresser base or buffet.
The burr elm gives such interesting grain patterns and also to point out, these grain patterns are matched from the centre out to the left and right…a good sign of quality craftsmanship when it was being made around 1830 in southern France.
Offering great storage with the two doors opening up to a full width space and a shelf, above you have the two drawers.
Also to mention, the original locks are both in working order with their keys.
This will be a lovely piece of furniture anywhere and the light tones of the burr elm will fit in both contemporary and traditional settings.
