Antique Watchmaker's Drawers

1900 - 1920
Description

A nice example of a small tabletop chest of drawers dating from the late 19th / early 20th Century. There is a nice arrangement of three small drawers over a flight of eight drawers with an additional drawer in the side. It is made of a mixture of mahogany and stained pine and the drawers have small brass knobs. It would have likely originally been used in a workshop to contain small parts or screws. Now it would make a lovely specimen / collectors chest or even a jewellery box or stationery cabinet.

It is in good condition for its age and has a lovely patina. The drawers are generally clean and tidy inside. There are signs of age and use, some minor surface marks and knocks, small chips and splits but no major damages. There are some minor signs of historic worm which has all been treated as a precaution and overall the piece displays well. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.

The best description comes from the photos so please look at them all carefully and if you have any questions just ask.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
