Description

1930s Cortebert pocket watch, Winegartens Railway Regulator.

The watch has a 15 jewel Cortebert 534 stem-winding movement which is working nicely. This same movement was supplied as an ebauche to Rolex, including for their military watches.

The watch measures 57mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop so slightly larger than a standard 50mm pocket watch. The case is nickel. The back of the watch is signed Winegartens Railway Regulator with an image of a steam engine to the centre.

The case is in good condition, just a little unevenness to the back but not too serious at all.

The glass lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Winegartens, 145 Bishopsgate, London EC2. There are some hairline cracks but they are faint. Original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
