Description

Naif? Resolutely so. And dead charming with it. The simplest means of expression are often the best, and this little gem beautifully conveys that peaceful, restful summer holiday feeling. And wouldn't it be lovely to have an entire Cote d'Azur promenade to oneself on a sunny day?

Our oil on board dates from circa 1900 and is signed - partly hidden by the rebate of the frame - by "Louise". I remember hearing there was a 19th Century French artist who simply went by the name "Mademoiselle Louise", but I have absolutely no information on her, nor am I certain it is her work.

Measuring 19 x 24 cm, the overall framed size is 23 x 28 cm.
