Antique Alpine gun metal and gold half hunter pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, signed with a tiny logo with the name Alpine with an edelweiss flower. This brand name was registered in 1890 by Charles Amez-Droz & Cie of Neuchâtel and Geneva, Switzerland. The movement is working nicely, and it is all protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 46mm diameter excluding the winding stem and crown. The case is a gun metal with a solid rose gold chapter ring in the form of a telephone dial. Rose gold plated ring, crown hinge and bezel. There is some age related discolouration to the gun metal but otherwise the case is in good condition.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover.

Inside, the acrylic lens is in lovely condition.

The dial is in lovely condition, and has blued steel hands, a recessed subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.

To initially set the hands, the small button on the bezel next to number 4 is pressed in, while simultaneously turning the crown.

The watch comes with a single rope twist chain, 32cm including the T-bar and the clasp.

The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
