Furniture from this era is characterised by elegance, symmetry and classical influences; such timeless pieces were usually made from high-quality wood, such as mahogany, and featured exquisite craftsmanship.

Georgian sideboards often feature elegant details such as serpentine fronts, brass gallery rails, and inlays; bowfront designs and pedestal bases are also common. They would have drawers and cupboards for storing tableware and a flat top surface for the placing of dishes for serving food and for the display of decorative items

This fine English Georgian Sideboard in Mahogany is of excellent construction and has a marvellous patina. It has a classic "D Shaped Design" with a shaped top with a long centrally located shaped frieze drawer above shaped spandrels to the recess; it is flanked by a concave hinged door modelled as two drawers to a cupboard on 3 legs on the right - this was possibly fitted out as a cellarette fitment originally. At the other end, on the left, is a concave fronted double depth bottle drawer modelled as two drawers also resting on 3 legs.

The body of this exquisite sideboard is raised on 6 Sheraton Style Tapering Legs with hand turned rounded reeded decorative groves with concave channels that run vertically with brass ring decoration. Above the front legs this reeded carving has been incorporated into main body of the sideboard which highlights the symmetry that is such a key feature of Georgian furniture.
This Georgian sideboard offered for sale in excellent condition with a marvellous patina has exquisite craftsmanship and a timeless elegant design and is ready to be a fabulous addition to any home.
