Antique Victorian Grand Flame Mahogany Sideboard
An outstanding condition original period sideboard.
We are delighted to bring to you the finest example of a rare early Victorian period (circa 1850) breakfront sideboard made from the finest quality Mahogany. The sideboard features its stunning ornately carved plate back (removable via screws) above its beautifully polished 1 piece (veneer) Mahogany top with cross-band edged all around. The top partition features 3 frieze drawers which are smoothly operating, dovetail constructed, red baize lined and complete with book-matched flame Mahogany veneer above their moulded edges.
This sideboard base features a breakfront which is flanked either side by 2 bulbous carved and curved flame Mahogany doors locked either side via its original lock and key. The centre doors feature a rounded moulding with beautiful floral carvings to the tops which frames the fine book-matched flame Mahogany centres. The centre doors have a lovely original brass slam strip in the centre with a matching brass keyhole escutcheon in-front of its original working lock complete with key.
Unlocking and opening the doors reveals a tray fitted interior, all of which slide out like drawers (can be left out or re-arranged) and are red baize lined matching the top partition drawers.
This sideboard is in outstanding original condition featuring its original beautiful lightly faded highly glazed French polished finish with its original stunning rich Mahogany colour.
